My graduate research focused on the ecophysiology of Cynara cardunculus invasion into California grasslands. I focused primarily on seedling ecology and physiology. The end goal was to provide usable information to land managers to assist in controlling the spread of Cynara cardunculus.

Please view the abstract for my dissertation.

My postdoctoral research has focused on both Cynara cardunculus and Arundo donax. I am researching the juvenile and adult stages of Cynara cardunculus in order to develop management tools to predict optimal control timing. Additionally, I am researching control techniques for Arundo donax and restoration techniques for native species in Southern California riparian ecosystems.
